Collateral Management
SEMAD S.A. acts as a trusted, independent custodian through our comprehensive Collateral Management Agreements (CMA) across Madagascar.
We bridge the trust gap between international financing banks, local underwriters, and importers by taking absolute physical and legal custody of commodities from the moment of vessel discharge until final warehouse release.
By operating in complete autonomy and managing 100% of the logistical and security chain, we eliminate default risks, mitigate stock discrepancies, and guarantee that collateral remains fully secured.
OUR SERVICES
End-to-End Custody & Supply Chain Control
We do not rely on third-party service providers; SEMAD S.A. directly manages and assumes full operational responsibility for the entire inbound flow.
- Port to Warehouse Logistics : Independent supervision during vessel discharge, secure customs clearance removal, and dedicated transport tracking to our designated storage facilities.
- Full Operational Control : Our dedicated teams—including expert Tallymen, dockers, warehouse keepers, and specialized security personnel—are entirely under SEMAD’s payroll and supervision, ensuring an unbroken chain of custody.
Strict Quantity & Quality Monitoring
We safeguard the value of the financial collateral under our care throughout its
storage cycle, which can span over several months.
- Initial Condition Auditing : Comprehensive quantitative counting and visual quality tracking upon cargo receipt into our leased or managed warehouses.
- Continuous Stock Audits : Regular inventory reconciliation and environmental monitoring to ensure the goods are preserved in sound and marketable condition.
Secured Release Management (Release Orders)
No cargo leaves our custody without formal, multi-party authorization.
- Bank Authorization Alignment : Stock is systematically locked within our facilities. We only trigger cargo release upon receiving an official, authenticated "Release Order" from the financing bank for a strictly defined quantity.
- Controlled Dispatch Supervision : Our warehouse supervisors physically monitor the extraction and delivery of the authorized batches, updating the collateral balance in real-time until the entire lot has been successfully liquidated.
